Got the bar going up, on a Tuesday……. • Power cleans – a staple in our programs @hidden_alley_crossfit. Why? Power cleans are an awesome full body exercise that increase overall strength and power. They require a great amount of control, coordination, and mobility to perform perfectly. We like to learn the power clean through a series of progressions: (1) front squat (2) Hang power clean (3) power clean • Learn the basic positions and establish a general understanding of how to hold the bar (hook grip, knuckles down), how to set up under the bar (neutral spine, hips higher than the knees yet lower than the shoulders), how to properly pull the bar from the ground (hips and shoulders rise at the same time), and how to receive the bar (quarter squat). Once we have established a competence for the basics, increase the speed. Once speed is met, increase the load
